Writs of Assistance

Our attorneys have experience in filing Writ of Assistance actions on behalf of an individual or entity that purchases a parcel of real property at a foreclosure sale. When title to the foreclosed property is transferred into the name of the third-party bidder, that individual or entity sometimes faces a challenge in removing the prior owner or occupant from the foreclosed premises. In cases such as these, our attorneys will file a Writ of Assistance action to seek a court order for the prior owner or occupant to vacate the premises, which sometimes requires the Sheriff’s Office to remove the prior owner or occupant from the property.
